Annual Retirement Survey
Each year, The Center conducts an Annual Retirement Survey, one of the largest, independent studies of its kind. The survey emphasizes savings trends, attitudes and behaviors among all Americans and segments within the population, trends of employer-sponsored retirement plans and their participating employees, and the implications of legislative and regulatory changes.
Most recently, the 12th Annual Transamerica Retirement Survey polled a nationally representative sample of 4,080 workers, 668 unemployed workers and 743 employers.
The Annual Retirement Survey was launched in 1998 by Transamerica Retirement Services; The Center was officially founded in 2002 to expand the survey and to introduce the Legislative Ledger; and, in 2007, it was incorporated as a non-profit corporation and private foundation. The Center is funded by contributions from Transamerica Life Insurance Company (an AEGON company) and its affiliates and may receive funds from unaffiliated third-parties.
