AEGON crowned best investor in The Netherlands

March 25, 2011

On 24 March 2011, AEGON Asset Management picked up the coveted Netherlands’ Morningstar Award for ‘Best All-round Investor’ at the annual awards ceremony held in the Krasnapolsky Hotel in Amsterdam.

With four awards, AEGON was the biggest winner of the evening.

Alongside the main award ‘Best All-round Investor’, AEGON picked up three further Morningstar Awards: two for ‘Best Small Investment House’, one for Fixed Income and the second for Equity; with the final award, ‘Best Euro Fund’, presented to the AEGON Interest Rate Fund.

The AEGON Asset Management winners

Sarah Russell, CEO of AEGON Asset Management, stated: “We are delighted to have won these prestigious awards, particularly that of Best All-round Investor. They provide real recognition from Morningstar for our capabilities and the approach of our investment team. The awards also recognise the strong long-term, risk-adjusted performance that we deliver for our clients, and that we are confident we can continue to deliver going forward.”

About the Morningstar Awards

The Morningstar Awards are presented primarily on the basis of performance in 2010. The jury also looks at historical performance and the approach to risk management, while evaluating the funds for their intrinsic quality and minimising the effect of any lucky ‘calls’ that could distort short-term performance.
