AEGON first entered the Spanish market in 1980 when it bought the insurer Seguros Galicia. Since then, the Group’s operations have expanded significantly.
AEGON has been present in Spain since 1980. The business offers pension and insurance (life, property & casualty insurance and – increasingly – health) through brokers and savings banks, called cajas. AEGON has joint ventures in place with five of the largest Spanish cajas, providing the business with access to nearly 2,200 bank branch offices and 4.4 million potential customers.
